Byer California is dedicated to conducting business in a lawful and ethical manner. We consistently verify, both independently and through third party audits, that our supply chains certify their full compliance with ethical standards, environmental requirements, and all laws including wages, benefits, health, safety, child labor, slavery, and human trafficking. In addition, we maintain internal accountability standards and procedures for employees or contractors failing to meet these standards. Our standards are in accordance with SA8000 Standards based on International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. Our Supplier Guidelines and Code of Conduct Manual, updated annually, include third party risk assessments and certifications of all direct suppliers that they comply with the same standards for the materials incorporated into the product. In addition, unannounced evaluations are also conducted by Byer California personnel at Domestic and International manufacturing sites.
Byer California suppliers are required to submit signed acknowledgement of our aforementioned guidelines and Social Compliance Standards. Byer California employees and management with direct responsibility for supply chain management receive training inclusive of human trafficking and slavery, to insure we mitigate risks within the supply chains.
